I have a broad basis in Mechanical Engineering, covering subjects such as structural mechanics, thermodynamics and manufacturing. As part of my degree I have also completed several significant group projects, including the design of a vertical axis wind turbine, modelling the behaviour of an aircraft in Python and developing a small solar charging system that follows the sun.
Next to my university courses, I was part of the Vehicle Dynamics subteam of the Edinburgh University Formula Student team. During my time at the team I helped optimising their existing vehicle analysis MATLAB scripts, setting up new MATLAB scripts and supported in the development of technical drawings and setting up assemblies in SOLIDWORKS.
During my fourth year industrial placement in 2022, I was a trainee race engineer for GP Elite, who won both the drivers and team titles in the Porsche Supercup and Porsche Carrera Cup Germany in the 2021 season. Following the placement, I decided to start for myself as a freelance race and data engineer towards the end of 2022. During my last year at university, I combined studying with working in motorsports. After graduating in summer 2023 with a Master of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh, I started working in motorsport full-time.
